I am a natural born traveler. My mother was accompanying my father, ABC NEWS Moscow Bureau Chief Sam A. Jaffe on a story in the countryside outside Moscow when her water broke. March 23, 1965 I was born in Moscow’s institute of Gynecology. This was the height of the Cold War. When my mother couldn’t find a baby sitter in places Czechoslovakia she would put me in a bathtub surrounded by pillows.

My parents were jet setters. They dragged me around to wherever my father was covering a story. That could be 3 1/2 months in China and Inner Mongolia. I was 7 years old. My sister and I were the first caucasian children to go to Inner Mongolia.

Here you will find photos from some of my travels. Some were assignents for magazines like Travel + Leisure, other were shoots for Getty Images, Condé Nast and Hearst magazines and other agencies.

Magical and moving places like Jaipur, Surya Sumudra in Kerela, Mumbai India, Saigon Hanoi Vietnam, the Four Seasons in Hawaii, Stockholm Sweden.

The Grand Hotel Tremezzo on Lake Como, Italy.

The Salvatore Ferragamo family flew me to their palazzo in Florence, Italy to discuss their Fall campaign.

Bally of Switzerland sent me to their head quarters in Zurich to work on recreating the Bally brand.

In 1997 I went on the first ever Spy Tour of Moscow, accompanied by Gary Powers Jr., ex-KGB agents, writers and journalists.

The ancient walled city of San Sebastian Madrid Spain, Paris, Nice.

Southern Living magazine sent me to do a story about road tripping around the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland. I was assigned to shoot from before sunrise to after sunset including 4am call times to board a crabbing boat, the best seafood restaurants and hotels, historic monuments like Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad National Historical Park. It is a 480-acre National Park Service unit in the U.S. state of Maryland. It commemorates the life of former enslaved Harriet Tubman, who became an activist in the Underground Railroad prior to the American Civil War.

Driving cross country from West Coast to East Coast during the pandemic with nothing in my Mini convertible but my two cats, German Shepherd Dog and a Sony camera and Apple laptop I ended up in the West Texas towns of Marfa & the historic Drug Store Hotel in Fort Davis

Martinsburg, West Virgina, mining town of Oceana West Virginia, a jail outside Baton Rouge & New Orleans Louisiana to shoot a convicted serial killer inspired by the movie Natural Born Killers, the White House in Washington D.C.

Town & Country sent me to do a story about Palm Springs including the “the most romantic hotel in America” Korakia, the Rat Pack haunt called Melvins, an extra ordinary bohemian Air&b in Joshua Tree.

Sonoma, Napa, the French Laundry Yountville towns of California, Canyon Ranch in Arizona for Self Magazine.
